How much help do you want?

Orientation is the longest mission in the game because it teaches the whole early game. Pick how much detail this page shows.

This only changes what this page shows. It is saved on this device and never creates a second URL.

First-Time Player Checklist

Orientation is long because it is the whole game's onboarding. During Orientation you'll learn:

  • Aberrant Forms
  • Basic combat
  • Traversal
  • Rituals
  • Resonants
  • Combat Abilities
  • The Gap
Your first Aberrant Form

Orientation asks you to make the first weapon choice before the mission really opens up. Pick the form that fits how you want to learn the opening combat.

Starting Primary Form

Choose the form that fits how you want to learn the opening combat.

Starting Secondary Form

A second group of starting forms follows. This page only records your pick.

Orientation only explains that the game asks you to choose a form here. Weapon mechanics, pairings and tier advice stay on the weapon pages.

Objective

1. Wake Up

Orientation walkthrough

Twelve steps from the first room to the ability choice. Major steps are marked; everything else is a short section.

The Gap

Whether you can re-pick the ability inside The Gap is still being verified. Treat the choice as changeable only if your build lets you.

Stuck in Orientation?

Pick the step you are on and the page answers with the route that unblocks it.

First check

Most Orientation blocks are a missing route cue or a scripted step you walked past, not a bug. Re-read the current objective before resetting anything.

  • I can't leave the Oldest House

Look for the locked security gate and the control room beside it. The switch there opens the gate; you do not need to backtrack through the containment level.

  • I can't find Zoe

Zoe is at the Hotel Building. Follow the story marker outside the Oldest House instead of searching the interior.

  • I'm stuck in the Ritual

The first Ritual is scripted. Follow the on-screen prompts; if an interaction does nothing, wait for the sequence to continue before retrying.

  • I can't reach the vantage point

This step expects the traversal you just unlocked. Chain Double-Jump, Elevate and Rush instead of looking for another path.

  • I can't beat The Artist

Keep moving, learn the attack timing and punish only safe openings. The boss page has the full attack and phase breakdown.

  • Which Combat Ability should I choose?

Compare Barrage, Shield and Volatile Anomaly in the comparison guide, or use the ability choice tool to match one to how you play.

  • What do I do in The Gap?

Use The Gap to test your new ability and look at early Talents and Aberrant upgrades before you continue the story.

Where this page sits

Orientation is the opening quest entity. It owns the onboarding route and hands the boss, the ability choice and the weapon decision to their own pages.
