Some guides list Shift as a requirement for The Subway Fault. The relation data on this site does not confirm Shift as a hard gate, so it is not shown as required.

Quick answer

Head to Railyard Street Station, enter the subway and cross the train section. Use the CRT television to enter the Fault, find Jesse and finish the ritual. That unlocks Reach. Leave the Fault and go back to the Underpass route that was blocked.

Stuck on The Subway Fault?

What's happening?

Why can't I continue?

It is usually one of these: a missing prerequisite, a wrong active objective, a traversal requirement, an interaction requirement, or a known issue. Check which one applies before calling it a bug.

  • The quest didn't start

Check the location and the progression prerequisite. It triggers in the Evacuation Zone near Railyard Street Station.

  • I can't find the subway entrance

Return to Railyard Street Station and look for the entrance at street level. The route section above has the landmark.

  • I can't enter the Fault

Check your current objective, then find the CRT television at the end of the tunnel route and interact with it.

  • I can't find Jesse

Keep following the Fault route. Jesse appears further inside, not at the entrance.

  • A Reach Point has no prompt

If you already unlocked Reach and a normal Reach Point still won't activate, use the Reach troubleshooting page instead of this one.

  • I can't leave after the ritual

Follow the exit route back to the subway and activate the fast-travel door on your way out.

Only problems listed in the updates registry are labelled as known issues.
