On PC the game keeps its saves in the local save folder inside your Windows user profile. Copy that folder before you move, edit or restore anything.

The save folder is hidden
Save folders live inside AppData, which Windows hides by default. Paste the path or show hidden items.
Cloud sync replaced the local save
When cloud sync is on, the newest sync can overwrite a local save as the game starts.
You are looking for an in-game save point
There is no manual save slot in the world. Progress is written automatically and at save points, while the file on disk is what you back up.
Close the game completely before touching any save file.
Open your Windows Local AppData folder and open the CONTROL Resonant save folder.
Copy the whole save folder to another drive and keep that copy.
Confirm the game can still load your saves before you delete or replace anything.

If a save is missing or will not load, stop before overwriting anything and ask the Assistant with your platform and store.
