Untapped → The Gap → Loadout
Find passive upgrades for damage, survival, Power, exploration and your build.
Artifacts are passive build modifiers. Find their Untapped versions, craft them in The Gap, then equip them in your Loadout.
Build effect
You can equip up to three Artifacts on a first playthrough. New Game+ opens a fourth slot, and crafted Artifacts carry over.
Every Artifact starts as an Untapped Artifact you find in the world, then becomes an equippable passive modifier.
Untapped Artifacts come from exploration, quests, Resonants, vendors and rewards.
The Gap is where an Untapped Artifact can be turned into a usable one.
Artifact Formation turns the Untapped Artifact into its finished form.
Provide the materials the formation asks for and craft it.
While equipped, an Artifact is always on — or waits for its trigger.
Artifacts are passive modifiers, not consumables. Some work all the time, and some only while a condition is met.
Start from the problem you want to solve, not from an Artifact name.

Artifact Formation consumes materials such as Echo and Source. Exact recipes and costs are being verified and are not shown yet.
Numbers are withheld until the crafting recipes are verified, so an outdated value never misleads you.
Some Artifacts are unconditional. Others only work while a condition is met, and some trade a downside for their benefit.
What the Artifact adds or improves while it is equipped.
The condition that must be met for the effect to apply. “Always active” means no condition.
The downside you accept in exchange. Some Artifacts have none.
A conditional Artifact is not weaker — it just asks you to play around its trigger.
A downside is only a problem if your build already depends on what it reduces. Check what the Artifact takes away as carefully as what it adds.
You can equip a small number of Artifacts at once, so each slot is a real choice.
Three slots means you are choosing a role, not collecting stats.
Crafted Artifacts carry into New Game+, and the fourth slot unlocks with it.

Plan another runAn Artifact is only useful if its trigger and effect fit the rest of your loadout.
Artifacts connect to your build through a trigger. A trigger can come from a combat event such as a Perfect Dodge, from a status your weapon applies, or from an ability your loadout uses.
Pick your weapon and abilities first, then find Artifacts that supply what they lack.
There is no single best Artifact. The best one depends on your trigger, your build and what you are willing to trade.
Because Artifacts are conditional and slot-limited, the useful question is which one fits your setup — not which one has the largest number.
