Most quests that stop advancing are missing a requirement — another quest, an ability or a boss — rather than a bug. Check the requirement before you reset or restart anything.
Check these first
- 1. Previous quest in the chain
- 2. Required ability or Resonant clear
A prerequisite quest is unfinished
Many quests only advance once an earlier quest or side quest is complete.
An ability or boss gate is still closed
Some objectives stay locked until you unlock a traversal ability or clear the Resonant holding the area.
The objective moved to another area
The next step may be in another zone or on another questline, so the current marker looks empty.
The objective will not update
Even with the requirement met, an objective can fail to advance. This is a tracked issue with a workaround.
Open the walkthrough and check which quest the game expects next.
