The Mysterious Dog appears once in seven zones. At each stop, find her lost toy nearby, carry it back to her bed and place it. After all seven, visit her in The Gap for the final interaction.
One Dog encounter per zone. You can clear them in any order, but The Gap only opens after all seven.
Every zone follows the same loop. The hard part is carrying the toy back, not finding the Dog.
When you get close, a paw marker appears. The toy always spawns within the encounter area and always looks the same.
Which abilities are restricted is confirmed by the game, not by third-party guides. Treat this as a warning, not a fixed rule set.
It may have reset to its original location. Return to the toy's pickup spot and try the return route again.
Run through these two checks before assuming a bug:

Seven returned toys is not the end. After the seventh zone, travel to The Gap and interact with the Dog one last time.
Complete all seven zones first.
Public guides list Untapped Trusted Spanner as the final artifact, but its identity is not verified in production data yet, so this page does not link it.
