Fingerboard Overview
Fingerboard is an Exploration Artifact whose useful job is conditional offense. While Dylan is using a Gravity Anomaly, it raises Damage and Falter together by 25%. The official category stays Exploration. The recommended use is Gravity Anomaly combat with Shift.
Official category and recommended use are different facts. The game data classifies Fingerboard as Exploration. The reason to equip it is the Damage and Falter bonus during a Gravity Anomaly.
What Fingerboard Does
One condition, two combat stats.
Fingerboard gives Dylan +25% Damage and +25% Falter while using a Gravity Anomaly. The advantage is that both stats rise from the same condition.
Enemies lose Health faster while the bonus is active.
Enemies lose balance faster, which opens a control window.
Best used with Shift in Gravity Anomaly encounters. The bonus applies while using a Gravity Anomaly.
How the Gravity Anomaly Bonus Works
The bonus follows the Gravity Anomaly, and Shift is how Dylan uses one.
Shift lets Dylan interact with a Gravity Anomaly. Using that Gravity Anomaly is what turns Fingerboard on. Fingerboard then adds +25% Damage and +25% Falter.
- 1 · Shift
Shift is the ability that interacts with a Gravity Anomaly.
- 2 · Gravity Anomaly
Fingerboard's condition is active while Dylan is using a Gravity Anomaly.
- 3 · +25% Damage and Falter
Both bonuses apply together for as long as that condition holds.
Equipping Fingerboard and pressing Shift is the setup. The numbers apply during the Gravity Anomaly use that Shift enables.
Fingerboard and Shift
Shift is the ability synergy. The trigger is still the Gravity Anomaly.
A Shift-focused setup is where Fingerboard belongs. Shift opens the Gravity Anomaly interaction, and that interaction is the condition on the +25% Damage and +25% Falter bonus. The ability page owns how Shift unlocks and how traversal works.
Is Fingerboard Good?
Strong when the Gravity Anomaly condition is part of the fight.
Good, but conditional
Very strong
Top recommendation
There is no negative trade-off on the bonus itself. It is +25% Damage and +25% Falter together. Outside a Gravity Anomaly the bonus is simply inactive, so it is not a permanent 25% buff.
| Scenario | Fit |
|---|---|
| Gravity Anomaly combat | Excellent |
| Shift-focused build | Excellent |
| Damage + Falter hybrid | Excellent |
| General combat | Conditional |
| Boss without a Gravity Anomaly | Low |
| Pure exploration | Context-dependent |
| Survivability | Low |
Best Builds for Fingerboard
A specialist slot, not an overall ranking.
Fingerboard is the clear Gravity Anomaly offensive Artifact in the current catalog. Use it when the fight actually uses a Gravity Anomaly. It does not need to be called the best Artifact overall.
- Best for Shift
Bring it when Shift and Gravity Anomaly encounters are the core of the setup.
- Best for Gravity Anomalies
The bonus is online for the whole time Dylan is using a Gravity Anomaly.
- Best conditional Damage + Falter
Damage and Falter rise together, with no penalty on either stat.
Fingerboard vs Other Artifacts
Same questions, different jobs.
Whetstone
+20% Damage and −20% Falter, on a broader melee and combat condition. Fingerboard is the stronger pick for Gravity Anomaly and Shift fights. Whetstone covers more general melee damage and carries a Falter penalty.
Shiny Pebble
Both Artifacts key off a Gravity Anomaly. Fingerboard is the offense option: Damage and Falter. Shiny Pebble is the sustain option: Health recovery. Together they are the offense and survival pair for a Gravity Anomaly setup.
