What Wad of Cash Does

If you Command enemies often, Wad of Cash lowers the Command Charge cost of that ability by 1. Targets that already cost more become cheaper. A target that already costs 1 still costs 1.

Game description

Makes the Command ability cost 1 fewer Command Charge. Minimum cost is still 1.

It does not

+1 Command Charge

A lower cost and a larger Charge pool are different benefits. This Artifact only changes what one Command spends.

How Command Charge Reduction Works

Subtract 1 from the target's Command cost, then stop at 1. A cost of 3 becomes 2. A cost of 2 becomes 1. A cost of 1 stays 1.

  • 1 Charge

No cost benefit. Command is already at the minimum.

  • 2 or more Charges

You save 1 Charge. The Artifact is more useful the more expensive the target is.

These rows illustrate the confirmed rule: cost minus 1, minimum 1. Actual enemy Command costs depend on the target.

What the Minimum Cost of 1 Means

Command never becomes free because of Wad of Cash. The floor stays 1 Command Charge, including targets that already cost 1.

Wad of Cash and Command

Command makes an enemy switch sides and help Dylan in combat. It spends Command Charges, a resource you pick up in the environment, to do that.

Commanding bigger enemies costs more Command Charges. That is where saving 1 Charge matters.

Is Wad of Cash Good?

It is a strong Command-economy Artifact, not the best Combat Artifact overall. The fit depends on how often you Command, and on how expensive those targets are.

Best Command Builds

Use it when the build is trying to Command more expensive enemies, not when it is trying to deal more direct damage.

  • Command-focused

Excellent. The Artifact exists for this ability.

  • High-cost targets

Excellent. Each Command above 1 Charge saves 1.

  • Control-oriented play

Strong. Commanded enemies switch sides and help in combat. That is not the same as a summoned ally.

A larger Charge pool plus a lower cost is a reasonable direction. This page does not calculate how many extra Commands that produces. It depends on the target cost, your current Charges, recovery, and the enemy.

Wad of Cash and Command Talents

Some Command talents add available Charges. A separate talent reduces the cost of Commanding low-Health enemies by 1, with the same minimum of 1.

  • Capacity talents

A talent that adds +1 Command Charge increases how many Charges you can hold. It does not change the cost of one Command.

  • Low-Health cost talent

Commanding low-Health enemies costs 1 fewer Command Charge, and the minimum is still 1. That is the same kind of discount as this Artifact.

Stacking behavior: not runtime verified

Both discounts are -1 with a minimum of 1. The order they apply in is not verified, so this page does not claim that a cost of 3 becomes 1 when both are active.

Command Cost vs Command Capacity

Spending less and holding more are different benefits. Do not collapse them into Command +1.

  • Wad of Cash

Reduces spending. Each eligible Command costs 1 less Charge, down to 1.

  • Charge-capacity talents

Increase the pool of available Charges. They do not apply this Artifact's discount.

Using both is a real build direction: a larger pool and a lower cost per Command. Do not turn that into a fixed number of extra Commands.
