Fight to the Core

Unknown · Main story #12Fight the Hedron

The Hedron3-phase boss

Fight to the Core starts in the Unknown with one objective: fight the Hedron. The fight runs through three arenas. You mostly damage the boss by killing the enemies linked to it, then finish each phase with a core interaction. An empty health bar is not the end of a phase.

What am I supposed to attack?

Attack the enemies, not the distant body.

For most of the fight you damage the Hedron indirectly. Killing the enemies linked to it drains its health bar, while hitting the central body barely moves it.

Reach the Hedron

Head northwest through the Unknown toward the western Hedron, then drop into the arena.

Reach the Hedron
  1. Start in the Unknown after Rebuild
  2. Head for the northwest Gravity Well
  3. Traverse toward the western Hedron
  4. Drop into the boss arena
Entering the arena

The fight starts after you drop in. Prepare before committing.

This is a heads-up, not a point of no return.

Some guides call this area Red Sand Island. Until the official map name is confirmed, follow the northwest route toward the western Hedron.

Boss phase tracker

Three phases. Mark each one when you finish its core breach, not when the health bar empties.

Core breach

Every phase ends the same way. An empty health bar is only step one.

  1. Drain the boss health bar
  2. Reach the Hedron centre
  3. Finish the outer core
  4. Enter the inner core
  5. Complete the core interaction
Health bar empty but nothing happens?

The phase is not finished yet. Go to the Hedron centre, perform the finishing interaction and complete the core sequence. The same loop repeats in all three phases.

Phase 1 — First Arena

The teaching phase: linked enemies on the centre platform drain the first health bar.

Goal

Drain the first health bar, then breach the core

  1. Dodge the projectile volleys
  2. Clear the linked enemies on the platform
  3. Kill the heavy enemies that spawn next
  4. Drain the Hedron health bar to zero
  5. Finish the core interaction

Phase 2 — Split Arena

Ground lasers and two combat platforms. Half of the linked enemies are across the gap.

Goal

Clear both platforms, then breach the core

  1. Keep moving to avoid the ground lasers
  2. Clear the linked enemies on Arena A
  3. Cross to Arena B with Reach

Two sides, two heavy waves. Most of the damage comes from heavy enemies.

Goal

  1. Clear Heavy Wave 1
  2. Shift to the opposite side when the next wave spawns there

Fight to the Core troubleshooter

What's happening?

  • I can't find the Hedron

Head northwest through the Unknown toward the western Hedron and drop into the arena. If you are still in Rebuild, finish that memory sequence first.

  • I'm not sure I'm ready for the fight

Check damage coverage and survivability, not a level number. Bring an effective non-Raw option and reliable healing before you drop in.

  • My attacks do almost no damage

The Hedron mostly takes damage through the enemies linked to it. Attacking the central body barely moves the bar. Switch to secondary, Fire, Mold or effective abilities.

  • The Hedron health bar isn't moving

You are probably attacking the central body. Kill the linked enemies and the heavy enemies instead; their deaths drain the boss health bar.

  • I don't know what to attack

Attack the enemies connected to the Hedron. Each kill lowers the boss health. Only the core interaction at the end targets the centre.

  • Phase 1 won't end

Clear the linked enemies and the heavy enemies until the first health bar is empty, then reach the centre and finish the core interaction.

  • Phase 2 stopped around half health

The remaining linked enemies are on the second combat platform. Look across the arena and cross with Reach.

  • I can't cross to the other arena

Use a Reach point to cross to Arena B in Phase 2. Reach is required here and is already unlocked in the main story.

  • The enemies keep moving

Hit a moving enemy once to interrupt it, then commit your damage before it starts moving again.

  • Phase 3 enemies are on the other side

You are on the wrong side of the arena. Use the Gravity Well on the arena edge, then Shift across and continue the heavy wave.

  • I can't reach the heavy enemies

Do not try to jump the gap. The intended route is the edge Gravity Well plus Shift, which switches you to the opposite side.

  • The health bar is empty but nothing happens

The phase is not finished. Go to the Hedron centre, perform the finishing interaction and complete the core sequence.

  • I don't know how to enter the core

Finish the outer core at the centre, then enter the inner core and complete the core interaction. This repeats every phase.

  • I finished Phase 3 but the story isn't over

Correct — Fight to the Core is not the final quest. The story continues immediately into The End. There is no return-to-hub step.
